Terms and Conditions
All transactions made by Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes are subject to the following terms and conditions. Nothing contained within these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Please read the following terms and conditions: if there is anything you don’t understand please feel free to contact me.
All wedding cake orders require a non-refundable booking fee of £100 to book the date in the diary.
Please note that all booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. All booking fees become due when the order has been placed and details checked and agreed by you. All orders are deemed to have been accepted only when the booking fee has been paid. Payments can be made either by bank transfer or cash. When the booking fee payment made to Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes has been cleared, this will be deemed as acceptance by the customer of all the term and conditions.
A final invoice will be sent to you 8 weeks prior to your event. The balance must be cleared 6 weeks prior to collection/delivery of your cake, as stated on your order form.
In the event that any payment is consequently declined, the order will not be completed or released until alternative funding arrangements have been agreed and payment is made in full. Subsequent completion of the order will be subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes accepts no responsibility for any loss howsoever caused or for non-delivery under these circumstances. The customer will be responsible for the payment of any additional charges which have been incurred as a result of payment failure.
As your wedding cake booking is reserved solely for you and certain components for your wedding cake may be ordered months in advance, the following conditions are implemented when an order is cancelled:
All cancellations MUST be made in writing and signed by one of the customers.
If you cancel your order within 2 calendar months of the wedding, no refund will be paid.
Cancellations within 2-3 calendar months of the wedding, your booking fee plus 75% of any balance paid will be retained
Cancellations within 3-4 calendar months of the wedding, your booking fee plus 50% of any balance paid will be retained.
Cancellations after 4 calendar months and more of the wedding, your booking fee plus 25% of any balance paid will be retained.
We reserve the right to make stylistic changes to your design during construction. These will not affect your theme, colour scheme etc. They will be in keeping with the original design.
We use ganache underneath icing (even fruit cake, when appropriate). This not only tastes amazing but also ensures a smooth finish to your cake.
If a cake topper is ordered from a different company, we require our customers to inform us and for the topper to be delivered to us no later than TWO weeks before the date. We accept no liability whatsoever for toppers provided by someone else that do not fit on the cake.
Flowers and in-edible items
At the request of the customer, cakes sometimes contain in-edible items such as broaches, ribbons, flowers and feathers etc. These items must be removed before serving and we accept no responsibility for any harm these might cause.
We can provide flowers to decorate your cake, or we will liaise directly with your florist. Be aware that some flowers are not suitable for cake decoration, or may be toxic if eaten and all foliage must be removed before serving. Any contamination to your cake is not the responsibility of Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes.
We try to accurately display all the ingredients and allergens present in each Cake. However, if you have any concerns regarding allergens please contact us before you place your Order. It is the customer’s responsibility to disclose to Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes any special dietary requirements or food allergies BEFORE placing any orders with Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes.
Alterations & Delivery
Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes will be happy to make alterations to your wedding cake design and order up to 6 weeks prior to your event date. Please take the time to check your copy of the order form carefully and let me know within 3 days of receiving your order if changes are needed.
It is your responsibility to advise Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes of any alterations to the original order. Any alterations you wish to make to your order needs to be confirmed in writing or by email. Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes reserves the right to increase a quoted fee in the event the customer requests a variation to the work agreed. Whilst every effort will be made to assist customers, please note that late changes cannot always be guaranteed.
Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes will deliver your cake to the venue or event at a pre-arranged time. If you have a specific delivery date and require delivery before a given time, please specify this when placing your order. There will be a delivery and set-up fee which will be added to your order.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes have been given the correct delivery information, and that someone is available to receive your cake. A signature will be required for the receipt of the order upon delivery. Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes accepts no responsibility for the cake once it has been signed for and left at the venue.
If the recipient is not available to receive the cake, the order will be returned to Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes who will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time for which an additional charge will be payable by the customer. Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes accepts no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the customer as a result.
On occasion we are faced with severe weather conditions, public unrest, or other unexpected events that may make your venue inaccessible. You can be assured that we will explore all other roads in order to get you your cake but accept no liability for our inability to deliver the cake. Wedding insurance may give you peace of mind.
The cake stand hire charge, as quoted, is payable to secure the hire booking. A security deposit is required when hiring cake stands. The hire charge and security deposit will be added to your order, which are held until all hired items are returned on time and undamaged. The security deposit amount will be returned to your account unless a claim for replacement or repair is necessary.
Cake stands are only available to hire with an order for your wedding cake, we can advise you which stands are suitable for the size of your wedding cake.
Should you wish to collect your cake, I will provide you with full transport, assembly and storage instructions where required. Please note that once collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the cake is with you the customer. Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes is not liable for any damages after collection.
Once your wedding cake has been delivered and set up by Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes, a signature will be required from your venue management confirming that the cake has been received in good condition.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have provided Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes with the set-up details and arrangements made with the venue for the location and display of your cake. Amanda’s Luxury Wedding Cakes cannot be held responsible for the location of the cake at the venue. Please ensure, therefore, that the display location is level, stable and strong enough to hold the cake. Please also keep in mind that chocolate or covered buttercream cakes can melt in warm conditions.
In the unlikely event you have cause to complain. You (or the venue) must call us immediately and we will collect the cake (if possible) or the cake must be retained (await instructions from us). No cake must be eaten, if the cake is eaten, either wholly or partly (i.e. more than a couple of mouthfuls) we cannot accept any complaint.
Intellectual property rights
We reserve the right to publish photos of your cake on our website, social media outlets or any marketing product as we see fit.
The information we collect may include name, address, telephone number email address and a delivery address and event date.
We do not share or sell your information to any 3rd party and only those involved in the processing of your order will need access to the information.
The information you provide when you place an order is not kept any longer than is necessary and destroyed in a responsible manner.
